Welcome to Year 2’s class page. Hopefully you will find all of the information you need here, but if there is anything you are unsure of please feel free to speak to Mrs. Caffrey or Mrs. Reed at the end of the school day. We try to update twitter weekly so you can see all of the amazing things we are up to in class, so keep your eyes peeled.

Reading

The children will be reading independently each day at school, so please ensure your child has their book bag in school every day so that they can make the most of this time. Reading books will be changed weekly as and when we feel the children are ready for a new book, which is another reason why it is so important that they have their book bag with them every day.

Sharing stories at home with your children and listening to them read has such a huge impact and as they become more confident, their love of reading will grow.

Recording when the children have read at home is really useful for myself and Mrs Reed, so please use the app to let us know how your children are getting on with their books.

PE

Our whole school PE day is a Wednesday. Please send your children into school wearing their full PE kit every Wednesday. The children will keep their PE kit on for the day, so you don’t need to worry about sending any other clothes in and we can make the most of our PE session.
