Hurst Knoll St James’ Primary School is a Church of England Primary School. The Parish to which it belongs is the Parish of the Good Shepherd, and the school is particularly linked with St. James Church in Ashton.
Links between the school and St. James’ Church in Ashton are strong. Alongside this, the school is also very closely linked to St. John the Evangelist Church at Hurst in Ashton. Vicars from both St. James' and St. John were on the Governing Board until recently when they both moved on to new roles. Currently, both churches are in a period of interregnum and do not have a Vicar.
School continues to work with the Parish of the Good Shepherd, St. John's Church and Manchester Diocese to ensure the spiritual needs of the school are met. We are very pleased to have recently welcomed Reverend Amy Sheridan to school who the Diocese have asked to provide us with support until a new Vicar is in place. Reverend Amy will lead assemblies for the children once a fortnight.
